Maine’s very own Chuck Cleary put together this fantastic highlight reel of women playing in the mixed division during the 2016 USAU club championships.
The Callahan Award is the highest honor awarded to college ultimate players and is given to one male and one female player each year who best epitomizes the qualities of high skill, talent, good spirit, sportsmanship, and leadership. One of the fun things about the Callahan Award for ultimate fans is the pile of promotional videos put together by friends and teammates of potential Callahan Award winners. The videos pull together each players highlights and are set to music and edited to be exciting to watch.
Here are the Callahan videos from a few of the past year’s winners as well as some of this years videos from other college stars.
2015 Women’s winner— Alika Johnston (University of Virginia) —
2015 Mens winner— Jonathan Nethercutt (University of North Carolina) —
2016 Thomas Edmonds (University of New Hampshire & Falmouth High School) —
2016 Henry Babcock (University of Richmond & Cape Elizabeth High School) —
2016 Julia Ting (Georgia Tech) —
2016 Khalif El-Salaam (University of Washington)
2016 Ari Lozano (Whitman College)

The Callahan Award is the highest honor a college level ultimate player can receive. Each season candidate players and their friends create nomination highlight reels that they share with judges and the world-at-large.
Here are a couple of great ones to get started with.
A close game with a thrilling finish!
Chloë Rowse, the Falmouth Alum who is running an ultimate frisbee camp this summer through the Falmouth Rec. Dept., is playing with the U23 Women’s Nationals team this year. I thought it’d be cool to share a U23 game, though Chloë is not in this one (we’ll share her games as soon as they start popping up on the net).
Another exciting game to watch for homework this week.
