Registration opens up Tuesday, December 10th!

We are making a change to our registration system and will be working through the Falmouth Community Program to handle sign-ups. To register for both the intramural program and the Rogue travel team, please visit their website and choose the appropriate program. Parents ALSO need to register here- intramural registration and Rogue registration. Both processes are quick and easy.

If you are new to FMS Ultimate, here’s a quick run-down on our we are structured. There are two teams to choose from- the intramural program (grades 2-8) and the Rogue travel team program (grades 4-8). Intramural practices start after April vacation and are held twice a week. The Rogue team starts at the beginning of April with indoor weekend pre-season practices and then meets four times a week after April vacation. Both programs end on June 7th with a combined all-Falmouth tournament and ice cream party. Kids do NOT need to have played before to join the Rogue team and there are no try-outs- they just have to want to play more ultimate. We also don’t really travel particularly far- our games are scheduled against towns like Gorham, South Portland, and Cumberland. There are two weekend tournaments in South Portland and Cumberland that run a single half-day each.

One fun aspect of our program is that the intramural and travel teams practice together twice a week during the regular season- on intramural days- Mondays and Wednesdays – both programs mix-in together and play more relaxed ultimate against one another, while on Tuesdays and Thursdays Rogue players compete in games against other towns and have more focused practice sessions.

It’s time to get excited about ultimate!

I am very excited to open up registration for the 2024 season for both Falmouth Rogue (grades 4-8) AND our intramural program (grades 2-8)! 

In the past, we’ve staged the two sign-ups so that Rogue travel team players registered a month or so ahead of intramural but this year we are changing that up and starting registration for both teams at the same time- now! 😀

That makes it super important that parents understand the difference between the two programs As our FAQ has it,

“The biggest difference between the two teams are the level of commitment expected. Falmouth Rogue players start practicing at the end of March and have two practices a week during the pre-season and then play or practice four days a week once we get outside on the grass after April vacation. In contrast, the Intramural players start after April vacation and plays twice per week. Intramural practices and games are also much more mellow than Travel Team practices, where players will be expected to show up ready to learn and to get in shape. We take the game a little more seriously on Travel days. One fun aspect of our program is that Travel team players play with Intramural team players on Intramural days.”

In addition, Rogue travel team players get uniforms and hats. Both programs participate in the end-of-the-year ice cream party and tournament and Rogue travel team players actually spend two days of their practice week playing in the intramural program, so there is a lot of good overlap between the two programs.

One note for travel team players- we are going to be using our uniform design from last year for one more season, so any Rogue players from last year should figure out if they need to order a new kit or of last years set still fits.

Intramural registration is open!

Registration is now open for intramural ultimate, open to students living in Falmouth in grades 3-8. Intramural will start on Wednesday, April 27th, running every Wednesday through June 8th. There will be an ice cream social tournament to wrap up the season the weekend of June 11th/12th, with exact timing TBA.

Please note: NO player will EVER be turned away for financial reasons. Scholarship funds are available for any families unable to cover the team fee. If you are in need of financial assistance, please indicate so on the player/parent form.

Intramural registration is open for 2021!

Given *All The Things*, we’ll be going all-intramural this year with Falmouth Rogue, with plans to return to also running a travel program next year.

Signs-ups for intramural will open up in April- register for the travel team now!

Just a quick reminder- our intramural team sign-ups will be open in April, with intramural play to begin in May, as soon as the fields are dry enough to play on. Intramural sessions will be on Wednesdays from 5:30-7:00pm and will be open to any student in grades 2-8.

Falmouth Rogue, the travel team, starts a month sooner and plays and practices more often than the intramural program. Falmouth Rogue is open to players in grades 4-8. Read our FAQ to learn more.

Teaching the 3rd graders this week!

HUGE thanks to FES gym teacher Jeff Sprague for allowing me to come in and teach Falmouth’s third graders how to play ultimate! We have two sessions with the third graders this year- one class for learning to throw and catch and another to learn how to play ultimate. It’s a good introduction to the sport a couple of years before the kids will spend six weeks playing ultimate in gym class as fifth graders.

Falmouth third graders are welcome to signup for our Intramural program and can play as travel players on Rogue next year as fourth graders. Signups for the Intramural team will open up in April.

Intramural starts this week!

Intramural starts tomorrow!

This week we head outside to play on the grass, as our travel team, Falmouth Rogue, also starts up its regular season.

Intramural will run Mondays and Wednesdays from 6-7:30pm.
Travel team will play or practice Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays, in addition to Intramural days. Travel team practices are longer and run 6-8pm.

Both teams practice and play on the grass fields behind the Falmouth High School. Registration for Rogue, the travel team, is closed, but kids can still sign up for Intramural.
